A. Introduction to Professional Development

        This module will provide information on professional development and how you can make the most of your professional development experience. Understanding the intents of a professional development plan and the characteristics of professional development will help to make your experience rewarding. The results of your professional development experience are critical in determining if that experience has been beneficial to your students, the school, and you, as an educator.

        The module will also discuss how your PEPE Professional Development Plan determines your professional development program and what is expected of you as you conduct activities and complete this plan. It is important that you implement your plan with assessment of your accomplishment of objectives in mind and that you describe the benefits of implementation. This module will provide information about how you should complete your plan and how what you do will affect your next evaluation.

        Because this module is lengthy, it has been divided into two informational sections, each followed by a brief self quiz. The practice activity (F), classroom application (G), and references and resources (H) utilize and support content in both information sections (B and D).
